Forum
meeting at AL-HIRA CENTRE.
Reading Mosque
forum also decided to join Thames Valley Mosque forum. TVMF now consists of
more then 30 mosques. The members of the forum after discussion agreed that
based on astronomical evidence that Eid in Thames Valley will be on 20th
Dec. Similar decision were taken by all the forums around the UK therefore
majority of the mosques will be celebrating EID on Thursday
20th Dec,2007. Later on no sighting was reported as estimated and
the decision was reconfirmed by the mosques. It is a great honour for
Al-Hira Educational and Cultural Centre, that Imams and Trustees of
different mosques came to attend the meeting.

Astronomer and ICOP member also commended and appreciated the
decision. He said this is wonderful development, good to see different
mosques management and Imams meeting and will help us unite.
Allama
Amir Aziz of High Wycombe gave a powerful presentation on moon sighting and
issues related to it.
Distinguished
Ullema of Thames Valley attended. Shahibzada Ghulam Jeelani, Allama Abdul
Latif Qadri, Allama Abdul Haq, Allama Jabbar Alvi, Allama Amir Aziz, and
Allama Rafiq-ur-Rahman. Although Allama Latif Qadri of Ayllesbury is
associated with Hemel Hempstead Mosque Forum but for solidarity and unity of
Muslims he attended the meeting of TVMF.
In
Trustees Chairman Wycombe Islamic Mission Mr Zafar Iqbal , Chairman Islamic
Trust Maidenhead Mr Fazal Awan, Chairman Reading Muslim Forum of Moon sighting
Dr Ibrahiem Nasr, Mr. Mamoun Akhtar (Reading), Abdul Rashid (High Wycombe)
and Mr. Khurshid Ahmed (Slough).
There
were many others guests present at that meeting. One needs a whole page if
to mention all the names. Above names are few names of the
distinguished and respectable guests. AL-HIRA SLOUGH (JAMIA MASJID HAZRAT
SULTAN BAHU) is thankful to all the participants and attendees for participating
in the meeting and making sure that Majority of Mosques in Thames Valley as
of UK do the Eid together on 20 Dec, according to UK moon sightings instead
of following a particular country.
